The bindery keeps a range of original tools. Some of them date back to Paul Kidson's Great-Grandfather, Mr JW Braithwaite, who founded the family business in 1901. When Mr Alan Hope took the difficult decision to close the business in 2008, he was kind enough to give the tools to the Ludlow Bookbindery which means we have a link to JWB's master bookbinding past.
These tools along with others we have acquired, give us the ability to finish books in very traditional ways and the team keeps building the skills to use them.
